Deathaversary - Albert Dekker - The Hideous Kinky

Albert Dekker
December 20, 1905 - May 5, 1968
"Mmphmmpmhmmbmmmnmphmmm.."

Masturbation will kill you. Ask Albert. He was an actor best known for his role as Dr. Cyclops, but was also in East of Eden and The Wild Bunch.  He was also a former California Legislator. He had a sixteen-year-old son who killed himself in 1967.

His long-time fiancé Geraldine Saunders last saw Albert on May 2nd when they attended the opening of The Latent Heterosexual, at the Hollywood Huntington Hartford. At the time she said, "We were to have gone again on Friday, but my numerous phone calls to him that evening went unanswered." She also claimed that they were to be married within the next month.

Dekker had recently moved into an apartment on Normandie Avenue in Hollywood.

Hello Dearly Departed van!

Initially annoyed and then concerned, Geraldine went to Dekker's apartment on Sunday morning the 5th.  There were numerous messages and notes attached to the door of his apartment from others who were concerned.   She asked the manager to open the apartment door just to have a peek.

When she turned the corner into the bathroom, she saw in the bathtub...

Now here's the thing.

A few years back we were making the documentary Dearly Departed Vol. 1.  Dekker was one of the featured stories.  Director Mike Dorsey lived in the building, but in a different apartment.   Since they are all the same, we were going to shoot it in his place.  In an "oh, what the hell" moment, I thought...  Well, we're here. Why don't we ask the people who live in Dekker's actual place?

So I knocked on the door.

A nice girl answered the door.  I told her we were doing a little documentary about an actor who lived in her apartment in the 1960's.  I asked her if she wouldn't mind if we shot in her apartment for a minute.  She agreed and asked us to return in 20 minutes.  I stressed to her,
"We really want to see the bathroom."

She looked at us strangely and agreed.  We returned.

This is what happened.

He "was kneeling nude in the bathtub.  A noose was around his neck but not tight enough to have strangled him. A scarf was tied over his eyes and a horse’s bit was in his mouth, fashioned from a rubber ball and metal wire, the bit had chain "reins" that were tightly tied beneath his head. Two leather straps were stretched between the leather belts that girded his neck and chest. A third belt, around his waist, was tied with a rope that stretched to his ankles, where it had been tied in some kind of timber hitch. The end of the rope, which continued up his side, wrapped around his wrist several times and was held in Dekker’s hand. Handcuffs clamped both wrists with a key attached. Written in red lipstick on his right buttock was the word, "whip." Sunrays had also been drawn around his nipples. "Make me suck," was written on his throat, and "slave," and "cocksucker," on his chest. On his stomach was drawn a vagina. He had apparently been dead for several days.

He was 62 years old.

Dekker was sent back east to the Garden State Crematorium, New Jersey. No one knows for sure what has become of his cremains.

Some people say it was a robbery gone wrong, because a good deal of cash and electronic equipment was missing from his apartment. I think someone may have ripped him off, but it sounds more like Albert loved doing the dirty squirty thing on his own. He was the great granddaddy of all autoerotic asphyxiators. Problem is, he didn't even complete the job.  The proverbial Die Trying, his death was ruled accidental.

He didn't cum.

Findadeath pal Jaymuss has a pal that wrote celebrities for autographs in the 60's.  This is one he got from our pal Albert.  I hope he washed his hands first.

Today is Freddie Prinze's 38th Deathaversary

Freddie Prinze

June 22, 1954 - January 29, 1977

Freddie was the hugely popular co-star of the television program Chico and the Man

On this date in 1977 Freddie killed himself in the Beverly Comstock, now a hotel, on Wilshire Boulevard.

In front of a witness.

"Dusty made a dive for the gun, but Freddie pulled away.  Dusty told him to "think about your mother, and your son."

Cause of Death - Gunshot wound to the head.

Full story on Findadeath

People under the age of 45 probably don't have a first hand memory of Freddie Prinze in his prime.

Most people over 30 might have a memory of his son Freddie Junior in his prime.

The Singing Suicidal Lesbian Nun - Dominique

Jeanine Deckers aka The Singing Nun
October 17, 1933 - March 29, 1985
"We have reached the end."

The joyous song Dominique which was huge in the 60's was used recently in American Horror Story as the song to calm the nervous.

Jeanine Deckers aka Soeur Sourire (Sister Smile) had a hit single in 1964 with Dominique - The only song out of Belgium to hit #1 on the American Charts.

She beat the Beatles.

Debbie Reynolds portrayed Jeanine in the movie The Singing Nun.  I am obsessed with bad wax - this statue of Debbie was so old her face looked like it had tit implants.

Speaking of tits, Jeanine was a mammber of the Dominican Order.

She took a vow of chastitty.

Most of the residuals from her music went to the record company, her own share  was, ummm, snatched up by her convent.

Debbie Reynolds made the snappy movie The Singing Nun based on Jeanine's story.

Two theories of how Jeanine, not Debbie, or maybe Debbie, but Jeanine met her lover:

While at a summer camp, a much younger female attendee, Annie Pecher, fell in love with Deckers.  I cannot tell you how many times the "summer camp lez" story has come up in my life.  It sounds like Annie was obsessed with the ex-nun.

or

Jeanine took classes at University, began smoking and wearing makeup and Annie was a fellow novice nun.

This on top of the Debbie Reynolds movie sent her convent into fits.

They turned.

This doesn't surprise me at all.  I've had experience with monster lezzer nuns.

The bad ones can be VILE BULLIES.  The nuns made it clear they didn't approve.

Girl had a nervous breakdown.

Girl left the order in 1966 yet maintained a religious lifestyle.

Eventually Annie moved in with her and Jeanine insisted it be only as "friends".

It took fourteen years for Jeanine to give up the "friend" thing and sip from the furry cup and join the Order of the Practical Shoes. They had an altar built in their house and took communion.

Girl turned rebel in 1967 when she wrote a pro-birth control song
Glory be to God for the Golden Pill.

You go.

She made her last album in 1979.

Get this:  The Belgian government wanted back taxes for the royalties.  The royalties were eaten out by the convent.  Jeanine tried to get out of it by explaining that situation, but they were not having it.

Towards the end, the two ladies were operating a school for autistic children.  It failed and closed.  Jeanine was trying to make a go at giving music and religion lessons.

They lived in the Green Horizons Apartment Bldg (#47B) in Wavre, Belgium.

On Friday night March 29, 1985, Jeanine and Annie took a massive overdose of barbiturates and washed it down with booze, apparently because of money.

They were discovered three days later by concerned friends.

In the suicide note was the statement:

''We hope God will welcome us. He saw us suffer, so He should show clemency.''

Upon hearing the news of the deaths, The Mother Superior from Jeanine's order, clearly devastated, gave the girls a tongue lashing.

"The lady is no longer a member of our order."

The ladies left behind instructions for how to distribute their belongings.
In their suicide note insisted they did not give up their Catholic faith and asked to be buried with a Catholic funeral.  They also requested to be buried together.

Our own tributes in the Dearly Departed Museum

In 2009 a documentary about Jeanine was released.

"Cécile de France, the Belgian actor who plays Deckers and fought to get the film made, described her as a rebel trouble-maker and a "punk before her time" but also a fragile egotist full of "repressed aggression and savage brutality".
