Findadeath: Stoney the Elephant - The Gentle Giant

Findadeath friend Kerry Randal- Ospital sends today's Death Hag Sticker

Stoney

June 17, 1973  - August 26, 1995

He is buried at the Craig Road Pet Cemetery in Las Vegas.

Stoney was a performing elephant at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas.

He was injured during a rehearsal and did not get proper care.   He died an agonizing year later.

The story is summarized in this Youtube video.  It's so sad.

According to legend, Stoney has been seen roaming around the cemetery, grazing on the grass.

I hope so.

RIP Stoney

Jon DeLorean 10th Deathaversary and Death Hag Sticker of the Day March 19, 2015

John DeLorean
January 6, 1929 - March 19, 2005

John DeLorean created this legendary stainless steel sports car.

He was also largely responsible for the creation of my dream muscle car, the GTO.

This one belongs to Rodney Bingenheimer.  He's absolutely worthy of looking up.

The DeLorean car became legendary when it was featured in the Back to the Future films.

DeLorean died of a stroke at the Overlook Hospital in Summit New Jersey.  He was 80 years old.

John was embalmed and shipped back to Detroit to the Desmond Funeral Home.

My brother Rick went to the visitation,  "He was wearing blue jeans and a black leather motorcycle jacket.  He looked pretty cool."  Rick also took these amazing photograph of the DeLorean's lined up outside in the snow.

The funeral home made sure no one touched him or took pictures.  It was a jam packed visitation.  I heard a rumor that one cell phone casket pic was taken, but I haven't seen it.  There was a private family funeral the next day.

John DeLoreanwas cremated and buried with military honors in White Chapel Cemetery.

Peter Lawford Memorial Invitation and Acujack oinker alert

Findadeath devotee Audrey in Arkieland sent this to  us.

FAB.

The knock-off Rat Pack member, not worthy enough to wash Pandora's feet.

When Lawford died, he was cremated and buried in Westwood Memorial Park.

Cut to 4 years later, his widow decided to write a memoir.

For publicity she claimed that Westwood was kicking her husband out because the Kennedy family failed to pay the outstanding bill for burial.

There was an outstanding debt, but the cemetery never EVER threatened to evict.

However, the National Enquirer made a deal with her.  Go figure!  They were given exclusive photographs of Lawford's burial-at-sea in exchange for giving  her shitty book a shout-out.

It failed.

The book came out about a year after.  haha.

The book is VERY trashy and very good.  For example:

Acujack was an electrical device that became Peter's best friend and companion.  The device is a male version of a woman's vibrator.  A man attaches it to him penis, turns it on, and it is meant to stimulate him to orgasm.  The sound it made was much like that of a kitchen blender, but Peter did not care.  He would attach himself to it at night, turn it on, and let it go literally for hours at a time until he eventually achieved some sort of climax.

The new relationship was almost as disgusting as his women, except that it looked ridiculous.  After several months of listening tot that motor whirr far into the night, I threw the machine out with the trash, hoping it would be gone before Peter awakened.  Unfortunately, he discovered it before the garbage collectors arrived and he was able to retrieve it.

He continued using it for the rest of his life.

For as famous as the Acujack was, it's difficult to find a photograph of one.  This is the best, but not really.

Audrey also found this article about Lawford being too "overcome" to attend the Dorothy Dandridge funeral, but spent 15 bucks on flowers.  Sorted.

My Inbox Today: Nick Adams' Grave

Scott,

Attached is a picture of Nick Adams' grave site that I thought you might find interesting.  Is shows his head stone, next to that of his parents.  We took a ride to the cemetery [in Pennsylvania]  where he is buried after finding your web site earlier this morning. Please feel free to publish the picture on your site.

                                                                          Thanks,
Tim

Very Festive, indeed.  Thanks, Tim!

Bette Davis Burial - Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills

Bette Davis died on October 6, 1989 in the American Hospital in Paris.

The American Hospital

Edie!

Her funeral was at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills.

These are extremely rare photographs of Bette Davis' grave actually open and her being loaded in.

"I don't want anyone sending money to any little charity instead of flowers. I want millions of flowers…I want everyone to weep. Copiously"

The Reverend Robert M. Bock of the First Christian Church in North Hollywood oversaw the service.

She did it the hard way.
